Our history

Our history
Our adventure began long before Camping Mahana. We met at a campsite in Port-Barcarès in the south of France, and then worked together at Belambra. These experiences gave us the keys to offering quality tourism, combining a warm welcome with meticulous service.
Behind Camping Mahana, there’s above all a story of encounters, passion and life paths that have naturally come together around the same desire: to offer moments of happiness and sharing to families on vacation.
Our career paths have taken us, each in our own way, to the heart of the tourist industry. Nicolas began his career in vacation homes in the South of France, while Anaëlle discovered the world of Pierre & Vacances in the Ardèche. Our paths then converged at Belambra, where we were lucky enough to work together on several sites, between the sea and the mountains, all over France. These experiences taught us the demands of service, the love of detail and, above all, the importance of creating unforgettable memories for our guests.
At the same time, Anaëlle passed on her passion for languages as a Spanish teacher, then accompanied numerous learners at Wall Street English in Rennes. We then continued our adventure together at Calicéo in Nantes-Saint-Herblain, a world dedicated to well-being and relaxation: Nicolas as director, Anaëlle in sales development. This experience naturally led to our first entrepreneurial adventure in Rennes, with the creation and management of Aquawellness, an aquatic fitness and wellness center combining sports activities, spa and moments of relaxation. Anaëlle has also shared her passion for well-being and the region as a columnist on TV Rennes.
It was through all these experiences that it became clear to us that we wanted to create our own place to live and enjoy our vacations. Buying our first campsite was an intense adventure, made up of doubts, perseverance and a lot of courage. But driven by our complementary skills, our love of hospitality and our sincere desire to please, we rose to the challenge. Today, Camping Mahana is the culmination of this journey: a place designed from the heart, where every holidaymaker is welcomed as a guest, and where family spirit is at the heart of everything.
When we took over Camping Mahana, there were no services. It wasn’t our vision of a real campsite.
So we rolled up our sleeves to make it a real 4-star campsite, where everything is designed for the comfort and pleasure of our holidaymakers:
– A city stadium and petanque court open to all, to share the energy of sport and the spirit of outdoor play.
– Direct access to the beach
– Heated indoor swimming pool
– A modern, friendly restaurant offering homemade dishes.
– Quality shows to liven up your evenings.
– A surf school for beginners and advanced surfers.
– A beach snack for those hungry seaside snacks.
– A guinguette – oyster bar to savor the spirit of the coast.
– Laundry facilities and electrical outlets for added convenience.
– A kids’ club to keep the little ones entertained in complete safety.
So yes, our pool doesn’t have a slide. But we have something even more precious: a loyal and respectful family clientele who share our values.
And for us, that’s the greatest achievement of all.
